Tuvalu Youth Troupe to Perform in Miaoli’s Zhong-zheng Hall on Monday 13th October, 2014/吐瓦魯青年團2014年10月13日將於苗栗縣政府國際文化觀光局中正堂表演 / by Minute Taupo

The Tuvalu Youth Troupe, an outstanding performing group from Tuvalu, will be performing in “The Sights and Sounds of Tuvalu: An Evening of Dancing with the Tuvalu Youth Troupe” on 13th October, 2014 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM in Zhong-zheng Hall at Miaoli’s International Culture and Tourism Bureau. The Troupe, which specializes in traditional Tuvaluan dancing styles, has spent the last week performing as a part of Tainan’s 2014 Nan Ying International Folklore Festival, and Monday's performance in Miaoli will be their last event before they leave Taiwan to return to Tuvalu.

The Troupe’s Miaoli performance will feature four items selected by the Troupe to represent Tuvalu’s traditional culture: a traditional welcoming song, the Siva, the Sasa, and the Fatele, and the unique nature of these song and dance forms is sure to fascinate audiences unfamiliar with Tuvalu’s culture. Entrance to “The Sights and Sounds of Tuvalu” begins at 7:00 PM on Monday and is free to all audience members. We encourage anyone interested in Tuvaluan culture and performing arts to attend this event!
