On Monday 9th March, 2015, Ambassador Minute Alapati Taupo traveled to the Taipei Artist Village to participate in a press conference about the Tuvalu Pavilion for this year’s Venice Biennale, which will be hosted by the Government of Tuvalu and Taiwanese eco-artist Vincent J.F. Huang. Ambassador Taupo was joined at the press conference by collaborating artist Vincent J.F. Huang, R.O.C. Executive Yuan Minister Shin-Cheng Yeh, and the CEO of XPEC Entertainment, Inc., Aaron Hsu.

This will be Tuvalu’s second year participating in the world-famous Venice Biennale art exhibition, and the country plans to use the event to promote awareness of climate change and its effect on Tuvalu. This year, artist Vincent J.F. Huang will be cooperating with Thomas J. Berghuis from the Guggenheim Museum in New York City to create a “flooded” Tuvalu Pavilion, which will focus on concepts including sustainability and the mutual existence of nature and humanity.
