From 10th to 15th September, 2015, Honorable Namoliki Sualiki Neemia, Tuvalu's Minister of Home Affairs and Rural Development, was accompanied by his wife Madame Katanga Namoliki Neemia; Parliamentarian Honorable Samuelu Penitala Teo; Parliamentarian Honorable Dr. Puakena Boreham; and other officers from the Government of Tuvalu on a visit to the R.O.C. (Taiwan). Tuvalu’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Minute Alapati Taupo, and his wife Madame Seleta Kapua Taupo joined the delegation over the course of their trip.
During their visit, Minister Neemia and other distinguished guests from Tuvalu met with Ambassador Simon Shen-Yeaw Ko, Taiwan’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, and visited Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund, Speedtech Energy Co. Ltd., and Chung Shan Medical University Hospital. Additionally, the delegation traveled to the Taichung-Chuanghua-Nantou Regional Branch of the Ministry of Labor's Workforce Development Agency to personally meet with Tuvaluan trainees studying under the "2015 Vocational Training Project for Youth in the Pacific."
The delegation’s trip to Taiwan also featured a visit to the Embassy of Tuvalu, R.O.C. (Taiwan) at Tianmu’s Diplomatic Quarter, during which Tuvaluan students studying in Taiwan engaged in a special briefing with the delegation.
