Passports and Notary Services
Citizens of Tuvalu living in the R.O.C. (Taiwan) can have their passports extended at the Embassy of Tuvalu in Taiwan. Passport extensions issued at the Embassy provide for the use of the original passport for an additional five years.
Furthermore, in the event that the child of a Tuvalu citizen is born in Taiwan, the Embassy can endorse this child in the parent's passport.
Fees: Passport extension—A$20.00 (approximately NT$542); Endorsement of a child—A$10.00 (approximately NT$271)
IMPORTANT: If you would like to extend your passport at the Embassy, please be sure to first make an appointment to visit the Embassy and fill out the appropriate passport-extension application form. When traveling to the Embassy for your appointment, bring both your application form and appropriate funds for your passport extension.
Remember that the Embassy can only extend your passport once. If an additional extension is required, you must send your passport to Tuvalu and have it renewed.
The Embassy provides notary services at no charge, and we are able to certify that copies of graduation certificates, Chinese exam scores, birth certificates, marriage certificates, and death certificates are “true copies” that have not been doctored or falsified.
Please remember that although we are able to offer notary services, this does not mean that the Embassy can provide graduation, birth, marriage, or death certificates or can officiate over graduation ceremonies or marriages. These matters should be dealt with by the appropriate local authority in Taiwan.
